#432 – Hello Friend

Hello! Its nice to take a little break from my constant coloring practices now-a-days. Here’s a card I made by using only stamping –

Hello Friend

I used WPlus9 Backgrounds and Borders 1, and Memento Dandelion, Hero Arts Soft Pool and Hero Arts Soft Cantaloupe, Memento Tangelo inks. The sentiment is from Hero Arts All Occasion Messages stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black. I added a bit of silver glitter, for just a dash of sparkle. 🙂

Hello!

Fine day for coloring! 🙂 I stamped this pretty flower from Ellen Hutson Bohemian Garden in Hero Arts Black ink, repeatedly, and using masking. I wanted to do some water-coloring on it, hence the Hero Arts ink instead of my usual Momento Tuxedo. I used Fabriano Aquarelle watercolor paper – fantastic thing, even though I did really light coloring – I could feel it! 🙂

Friends

I used distress inks for coloring, choosing inks for a softer palette. I went with Tumbled Glass, Spun Sugar and Mustard Seed (very light coloring with this) for the flowers and Crushed Olive and Mowed Lawn for the leaves (again, very light coloring). For the background of the flowers, I initially went with a light mixture of Pumice Stone and Brushed Corduroy, but thinking that there was no contrast at all, I re-colored it with black.

The sentiment is from Paper Trey Ink Wet Paint 3, which I stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black (yes, I just had to use that ink! :P) Finally added a dashed line around the card using Uniball Signo black gel pen.

PE: Color Throwdown – entries that stood out

Hello! After a break of another few days, I made a few cards yesterday 🙂 Firstly posting CAS ones –

I [heart] youMade this card using chipboard embellishments I had bought a while back – I almost forgot I had them! I thought of using a couple of bracket-shaped chipboards first, but replaced them with the smaller quotes later. The sentiment from Winnie & Walter Big Bold You is stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black ink.

CASology Week 158: PreciousMuse Challenge #127: Joan BardeeFor my second card – I got inspired by this card by Maile Belles.

BannersFor this card, I used Pamass green pigment ink, ColorBox Creamy Brown chalk ink, Hero Arts Soft Cantaloupe and Soft Pool inks with Winnie & Walter Scenery: Its A Wonderful Pennant. I hand drew the strings using Copic Multi-liner. While I stamped the triangles for the first row, I cut out several of the triangles and adhered them directly on the card panel for the second row and foam mounted them for the third row. The sentiment from Bo Bunny Captured stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black ink.

CAS XOI masked off a vertical section on the card base and colored it using Worn Lipstick and Scattered Straw distress inks. I then added some water splatters and then stamped the sentiment and flowers from Kaisercraft XO stamp set using Memento Rhubarb Stalk, Bamboo Leaves and Tuxedo Black inks.

Two Flowers

Hello! Its been some time since I made this card, but I was too lazy to post! Finally, its time had come! 😛

Two FlowersMore doodling than anything else! 😀 I doodled, then used watercoloring mostly, finally going back in a black pen and some white acrylic paint for the final touches. Actually, I had added dots of white paint and then I painted those lines on top of them again – you can still minutely see the dots under them, but its ok – not so visible! 😛

I really loved making these flowers! My Ma even said that the blue one looks like jewelery – and I agree! 😀 What do you think? They make me happy to see them too, so the sentiment very much matches my mood when I finished making them. Oh, by the way, the sentiment comes from Technique Tuesday Hello Sunshine, which I stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black ink. I did go over a few spots again with a black pen, where the ink didn’t stamp properly.

Spring Blossoms & Berries

Hello! I am on a card making roll this weekend! 🙂

I made a one layer card carrying a spring theme, using the Fresh Cut Florals from WPlus9.

Spring Blossoms & BerriesI used an assortment of inks for this –

For the flowers – Hero Arts Butter Bar, Hero Arts Neon Orange, Memento Lulu Lavender, Memento Angel Pink, Memento Rose Bud
For the leaves – Memento Pear Tart, Memento Bamboo Leaves,  Hero Arts Soft Granite
For the berries – Hero Arts Neon Blue, Memento Nautical Blue

I again used Hero Arts Soft Granite to add little dots and fill up the spaces.

Spring Blossoms & Berries (close up)I started with the sentiment, from the same stamp set, stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black ink. Then I stamped all the flowers and berries (did you see the gradient on the leaves? I just love that little detail! :D) I then drew a frame around using Copic Multi-liner.

How do you like the card? I think it came out pretty well, considering the few number of times I’ve actually used this set! 🙂 I am submitting this to the One Layer Simplicity Challenge #16: Blossom and Sovushka Slavia: May CAS Marathon: Step 1: Flowers

Thanks for looking!
