#730 – Pink in Love

PE: Top 3 at A2ZScrapbooking Challenge!!

A2ZScrapbooking - Honorable Mention

Hello! I am back with another project for the Winnie & Walter 4th Birthday Bash challenges.

I’ve been wanting to try this out for quite some time now, but didn’t really get the idea right in my mind. I wanted to achieve the look of some the stamps now-a-days which, so charmingly, combine words with flower images. I think I am half there – since I’ve used dies to achieve this look, and not stamps! 😉

2018-02-15(3a)

Here’s how I made it – I first die cut the letters, then laid them back in place using temporary tape from behind. I then stamped the flowers, added all the dots. Then, I separated the die cut letters and colored portions of the die cuts using a black Zig brush pen.

Later, I die cut the panel and turned it to a shaker card using silver sequins, and mounted it on a pink card base.

2018-02-15(3b)

The only thing I would change about this card, is to not make it a shaker, and keep the levels of the letters same as the rest of the card. Somehow the effect I wanted is not showcased well in this card 😦 But, since I did partially did get what I wanted, I am gonna say I am happy! 🙂

Products used on this card include (all Winnie & Walter products) –
Typecast Cary Letters
In Bloom: Victoria’s Very Merry Flowers
Essentials: Lana’s Cutaways

With this card I am joining the following challenges –

A2Z Scrapbooking Challenge Top 3!

Hello and a very happy new year to everyone! I now I am a day late.. I was out yesterday and didn’t have time to click the snaps and post it yesterday. Well, a day late is still ok, isn’t it? 😛

I am presenting here four cards that I made for my family this year. Its kinda become a tradition for me to make four cards during New Year and Diwali for the family, following a single theme of design/technique/both. (Check out the cards I made for 2017 and 2016 New Year’s)

And here are this year’s cards –

2018-01-02(1a)

After making a couple of vintage looking cards, I kinda started liking the look of them, and decided to make that the theme this year. Also, a big reason to make this true were the Prima watercolor pencils I got sometime last month. I had already owned a couple of sets of these pencils and absolutely loved them, and I ordered all the sets I could when they went on sale. I love the soft colors that these pencils give, which is just perfect for making vintage looking cards.

I chose a common design for making all the cards and the envelopes. I used outlined flower and leaf images from various companies, watercolored them using the Prima watercolor pencils. I used Canson watercolor paper. The sentiment on all of them is from the Mama Elephant Calli Letters and Calli Uppercase Letters stamped using Versamark Onyx Black ink. The envelopes are self made.

After trimming the watercolor panels and adhering them on grey cardstock, I added a couple of lines using silver Unibal Signo gel pen, to give the panel a sort of a frame. Since I wasn’t going for any additional embellishment, this would provide my cards a sort of ‘finished’ look.

Now lets go to the details of each card –

I used Altenew Peony Bouquet and Altenew Beautiful Day stamp sets.

#705 – Merry Christmas (2)

Hello! And welcome! 🙂 I am posting here the second of the two cards I made using the Stamplorations Christmas Flower stamp, which is a very pretty image of a poinsettia. (Scroll down to see the first version!)

On this card, too, I did some watercoloring using Zig Brush pens, just with different colors. Also, I replaced the heat embossing with stamping.

2017-12-21(2a)

I stamped the image twice on a watercolor panel using Versafine Onyx Black ink. I then used my Zig Brush pens for coloring. I went with light pinks and green-grey colors this time, as opposed to the rich reds and greens from last time. I love how varied the effect is! 🙂

2017-12-21(2b)

Once done, I added a few splatters of green-brown Camel drawing ink. I then die cut the sentiment – from Winnie & Walter In a Word: Merry die set – from the panel. I also stamped the ‘Christmas’ from Neat & Tangled Merry Beary stamp set. Then I adhered the panel directly on black cardstock. I stacked the die cut sentiment a few times with a few more die cuts, then mounted it a bit off the negative, to show off the black cardstock underneath (also gives a shadow effect).

#694 – Thanks For Everything

PE: CAS(E) This Sketch Favorite!!

CASE This Sketch - Honorable Mention

Hello and welcome! Its been some time I last worked on Kraft base cards, and somehow a ‘thanks’ theme with kraft seemed like the perfect fit.

2017-11-13(2a)

I made this card using the three basic and simple basics of card making – stamping, embossing and die cutting. I used the images from Reverse Confetti Blooms n Buds for stamping everything in tones of brown, die cut the sentiment ‘Thanks’ using Neat & Tangled Jounaling Alphas, the rest of the sentiment stamped from Paper Trey Ink Wet Paint, finally the embossing in the background is using We R Memory Keepers Weave embossing folder. Very simple, but looks complicated. 😀

Hello! Made this card with the current Altenew challenge colors. Mostly using oranges and browns, with a splash of yellow in an otherwise earthy colored card.

2017-11-13(1a)

I used Altenew Watercolored Wonders with distress inks. The sentiment comes from Honey Bee Stamps Brush Grunge Alpha. I added some dots using gold pearl pen.
