Seize The Birthday - The Toppings

Seize The Birthday - Anything Goes

You’ll find lots of inspiration at the Seize the Birthday blog, fabulous projects created by our amazing DT and also our Surprise Party Guest, Lindsey! In the meantime, here’s my inspiration –

Happy Birthday to You

I chose the color orange along with my red and white. I initially thought of yellow and blue, but since these were a pretty common combination, I searched for something new. I had initially chosen a teal/mint color, but finally ended up with orange! πŸ™‚

I used Winnie and Walter In Bloom: Lola’s Bouquet, stamped and colored them using distress inks. I then fuzzy cut the flowers right along the outline. I then die cut a panel using Reverse Confetti Edgar’s Confetti Cuts, Stamped the sentiment from Paper Trey Inks Wet Paint and Wet Paint 3. The ‘you’ is from Simon Says Stamp, which I colored using a red Zig Brush Marker.

Happy Birthday to You

#630 – Seize the Birthday – No Toppings

Hello and welcome to a newΒ  challenge at Seize the Birthday! This time is a ‘No Toppings’ challenge, meaning, that you can go with absolutely any kind of project you want, as long as it is Birthday Themed! Isn’t that awesome! πŸ™‚

Seize The Birthday - Anything Goes

Here’s my inspiration for you –

Happy Birthday

To make this card, I first used ink smooshing with distress inks, choosing pink inks and made a gradient formation on a watercolor panel. Once I got the desired look, I let it dry. Once dry, I added some background using Penny Black Trailing Vines stencil, using the same distress inks, but going a bit darker than the underlying color, so that the texture stood out just a bit. I then trimmed the panel to size.

Happy Birthday

I then die cut the flower and leaves using Ellen Hutson Bold Blooms, gold heat embossed the sentiment, from Altenew Painted Greetings on vellum, then adhered it all on the panel, which I then adhered on the card base, I added a few drops of gold Deco Art Glamour Dust Ultra Fine Glitter Paint, to add shimmer to the card.

I am adding my card to the following challenges –

Where Creativity Meets C9 - Honorable Mention

Hello and welcome to a new challenge at Seize the Birthday. The topping this time is Anything Goes, so feel free to join us with any type of card, as long as it is birthday themed!

Seize The Birthday - Anything Goes

Here’s my inspiration for this time –

Happy Birthday

I made this card for a dear friend of mine, who celebrated her birthday just a few days ago.. so she already has this card with here. πŸ™‚

I started with stamping the beautiful blossoms from Concord & 9th Hello Lovely stamp set using Antique Linen distress ink on Canson watercolor paper. I then colored them using Prisma color pencils, then watercolored them for a soft look. I then went back with my Unibal Signo black and gold gel pens to add the flower centers and a few dots here and there. The sentiment comes from Simon Says Stamp Big Birthday Wishes stamp set.

Happy Birthday

I then die cut the panel using Spellbinders A2 Curved Matting Basics, then mounted it on a pale yellow card base.

And here’s how the envelope came up. I stamped it with the same image, using Hero Arts Soft Granite, then only gave the flowers the least bit of coloring.

Happy Birthday

#606 – Seize the Birthday – Two Pattern Papers

Hello! And it time for yet another challenge at Seize the Birthday! The topping this time is to create use two pattern papers in your birthday project. Just two. No more. No less. πŸ˜‰

Seize The Birthday - The Toppings

You still do have the choice of joining us with just a Birthday themed card, if you are fresh out of pattern papers (is that even possible?!?!) πŸ˜‰

Seize The Birthday - Anything Goes

Here’ my inspiration card –

Happy Birthday

I chose pattern papers from American Crafts “Best of American Crafts” stack. I just love the papers from this! In fact I had quite a few matches to select from, and finally chose these two because of the colors – its been some time since I used green and black..(at least when I wrote this, it was! πŸ˜‰ )

Happy Birthday

So, after adhering one of the papers on the card base, I die cut the other using Neat & Tangled A Lot To Say die. I then added the sentiment, from Paper Smooches Happy Birthday and the flower from Ellen Hutson Wild Garden, and embellished them with a couple of black rhinestones.

Happy Birthday

The white line you see around the die cuts is not your imagination or a photo glitch – I stacked the top black die cut on several layers of white die cut – just cuz I wanted to! πŸ˜€ A small change from the normal to jazz up the card? πŸ˜‰

Hope you are inspired! Do come join the fun! There’s a lot more inspiration to be found made by the rest of the DT and our Surprise Party Guest Anita Bowden at the Seize the Birthday blog! πŸ™‚
