#498 – Share The Love Week (5)

Its ‘Share the Love Week’ at Ellen Hutson and Winnie & Walter, where they have both combined their products and come up with some amazing cards and challenges over the course of 5 days.

I am sharing my next card in the series. Again, I am mixing the theme from two days – Day 4: Transparent and Day 5: Mood Board –

Here’s my card –

I stamped the flowers and leaves from Ellen Hutson Bohemian Garden on vellum using Versamark watermark ink and heat embossed them in silver (although, on retrospect, it would have been gold – see the gold horse centerpiece in the bottom left image) and colored them very messily using Camel Drawing Inks. Once everything dried, I fuzzy cut out the center, to get a window, where I could stamp the sentiment.

I then adhered the sides to a card panel, trimmed off the excess, and then mounted the panel on the card base. I then stamped the sentiment, from Winnie & Walter The Big, The Bold & You, in Memento Tuxedo Black. I also added a few pearl dots on the flower centers.

I made all the cards last weekend. In retrospect, maybe I should have added a few splatters on the card base too.. that would have highlighted the transparency of the vellum too! 🙂

#497 – Share The Love Week (4)

Its ‘Share the Love Week’ at Ellen Hutson and Winnie & Walter, where they have both combined their products and come up with some amazing cards and challenges over the course of 5 days.

I am sharing my next card in the series. This time, I am mixing the theme from two days – Day 4: Transparent and Day 5: Mood Board –

Here’s my card –

For this card, I first made the background with a panel using Winnie & Walter Scenery Stripes and a few pastel inks and Memento Tuxedo Black. I then adhered this over the card base, and made a shaker card using some bronze beads. These beads are not exactly meant for shakers, I just snuck them over from my sister’s jewelry making stash! 😛

Once the shaker was done, I adhered these flowers that I had made for another project but never used them there. The flowers are die cut from vellum using Ellen Hutson Ellen Hutson Wild Garden. However, before die cutting, I added some copper leafing over them. I finally added the sentiment, from Winnie & Walter The Big, The Bold & You.

#496 – Share The Love Week (3)

PE: One in Top 10 Favorites of Virginia’s View Challenge!!! Yay! And double yay!!

Its ‘Share the Love Week’ at Ellen Hutson and Winnie & Walter, where they have both combined their products and come up with some amazing cards and challenges over the course of 5 days.

I am sharing my next card in the series, to be exact, for Day 3: Background Building. Here’s my card –

For this card, I used one of the stamps from Winnie & Walter Scenery: Its a Wonderful Pennant along with my MISTI and used various Memento inks to get an ombre and colorful background. I then trimmed it and mounted it over the card base.

The sentiment, from Ellen Hutson Mondo Magnolia is heat embossed in white over a piece of trimmed vellum. I mounted it using silver dotted washi tape, along with some silver string for embellishing.

Its a simple card, but took quite some time in the making – I couldn’t even decide where and how to mount the sentiment (maybe having a die cut sentiment would have been easier, but I don’t own any from Ellen Hutson or from Winnie & Walter) or even what to embellish the card with. But I am mostly satisfied with the card, except for the fact that the string shows beneath the washi – wish I could have avoided that somehow.. any ideas?

#494 – Share The Love Week (2)

Its ‘Share the Love Week’ at Ellen Hutson and Winnie & Walter, where they have both combined their products and come up with some amazing cards and challenges over the course of 5 days.

I am sharing my next card in the series, to be exact, for Day 2: Sentimental. Here’s my card –

I completely relied on pattern papers for my backgrounds. The papers are from pattern papers are from Best of American Crafts and Best of Heidi Swapp. Once I trimmed them, I stamped the flowers from Ellen Hutson Bohemian Garden using Hero Arts Soft Pool and Memento New Sprout inks. For the sentiment, from Winnie & Walter The Big, The Bold and Party, I stamped it on some scrap cardstock, fuzzy cut it, I then trimmed a strip of pattern paper and layered it with green patterned washi tape and mounted the sentiment over it.

For embellishing, I added a few more flowers die cut from Ellen Hutson Wild Garden, from pattern paper and a wood veneer arrow. I also added a few gold sparkly dots using gold stickles, and pulled a line over the checkered pattern paper using the same, just for a bit of additional sparkle. 😉

#493 – Share the Love Week

Share the love week started over at Ellen Hutson and Winnie & Walter, where they have both combined their products and come up with some amazing cards and challenges over the course of 5 days.

I made a few myself, to submit to each of their challenges, and here’s presenting the card for the first challenge, Day 1: Flowers –

I used digital prints of Winnie & Walter Big, Bold & Extras Rose, and watercolored them. After fuzzy cutting them, I arranged them over pattern paper from Best of Pink Paislee, adhering the roses at different levels, and then added the sentiment from Ellen Hutson Mondo Magnolia, stamped using Memento Tuxedo Black over a tag die cut using Wplus9 Timeless Tags 2.

I then added a little shimmer on the roses using Wink of Stella clear glitter – looks amazing! 🙂 I thought of adding sequins for embellishing, but then, the roses with the BnW background were so overwhelming in themselves, I think anything more would have drowned the card! 😛
