#913 – Rosy Love

PE: Watercooler Rocker at Watercooler Wednesday challenge!

Watercolor Wednesday - Honorable Mention

Hello and welcome to yet another challenge we have up at the Tic Tac Toe challenge! We have a new theme for January – ‘Love/Wedding’ and the board this time is created by LeAnne –

I chose the mid row – Red/Dry Embossing/Designer Paper – and here’s what I made –

Over my card base, I first added a white card panel embossed with Altenew Flowers & Leaves embossing folder. I then added a layer of designer paper from Best of American Crafts paper pad. Wow! Its been so long since I used designer paper!! πŸ˜€

Then over, another piece of designer paper, from CrafTangles The Wanderer Collection, I stamped the rose from Concord & 9th Painted Rose and die cut it. I die cut an additional layer using scrap cardstock and adhered it below the die cut pattern paper for support. I then adhered it to my card.

The sentiment, from Altenew Label Love, I stamped in green and then trimmed it and matted it over a black card stock strip. I then adhered it over my card. I also added a couple of sequins for embellishing.

And that’s it! That finished my card. And I’m joining the following challenges –

#377 – Clustered Leaves & Thanks

PE: Colour Me Connoisseur!! Glad to have this honorable mention at their last challenge! πŸ™‚

Hello! I am driven by inspiration this time too! πŸ™‚ There are so many fabulous card makers out there, that it is impossible not to be! πŸ˜› My card this time is a CASE of this card by Debby Hughes for the Simon Says Stamp blog.

I really loved the way she used the Simon Says Stamp Clustered Leaves die, mixing it with vellum, and then used a bit of washi tape to finish the card. Such a beauty! I’ve used these concepts in my card as well. But instead of using distress ink and then water to create the splotchy effect, I used textured cardstock and then white and pearl white paint.Β  I used Paper Smooches Thanks die for the sentiment. And silver glitter on the leaves and silver sequins for embellishing.

It was a really quick card to make, once I got the placement! πŸ™‚

Submitting this card to Colour Me Challenge #100. I just had to play this time – can you believe its their last challenge?!?! So sad! But, I do wish them well with all my heart! They’ve provided us with so many fantastic color themes and I’ve loved participating in their challenges, even been lucky enough to win a few! πŸ™‚ The ‘Thanks’ suits my sentiments for the team, just fine! πŸ™‚

#365 – Neat and Tangled Flowers

PE: I had my card featured at Neat and Tangled!!!

Noticed by Neat & Tangled

Colour Connoisseur at Colour Me…!

Lovely Little Tangle (Honorable Mention) at Little Tangles challenge

I recently bought some Neat & Tangled merchandise. AndΒ  I couldn’t really wait to put them into good use! πŸ™‚

For my first card, I used Paper Cut Flowers.

I stamped the flowers using Color Box pigment inks – Orange, Lime and Brown from Rich Rustics. Since the flowers themselves were not cutting it, I added the dots and the little design elements from Altenew Hannah Elements using the same colors. Now, I felt that the images were very flat, without any texture – so I stamped JustRite Burlap using Hero Arts Unicorn white pigment ink. This brought in a very subtle texture – love it! πŸ™‚

I then trimmed the card panel on the sides and then into two pieces. I finally stamped the sentiment from the same stamp set using Memento Tuxedo Black. Also added a few clear sequins for embellishing. I added washi tape on the card base before adhering the two pieces on it. That finished my first card! πŸ™‚

Now for my second card. I used The Hoop die and also Hand Stitched stamp and die sets.

I first die cut and then stamped the flowers using Memento Tuxedo Black. I water-colored them using Fired Brick, Aged Mahogany, Fossilized Amber, Pumice Stone. For the hoop, I first die cut it from white cardstock, Zig Clean Color Real Brush Cool Grey pen, dipping it in Pumice Stone to achieve some shading colors (I don’t have a Zig pen of the right color!). I also die cut the hoop again from some vellum, adhered the inside piece using some tape to the outer, colored piece.

Leaving these aside to dry, I prepped the background. I used ink smooshing using Fossilized Amber and Pumice Stone. I then die-cut them using Spellbinders A2 Curved Matting Basics. I then adhered all the pieces together. Finally stamped the sentiment from Reverse Confetti All About You using Memento Tuxedo Black.

#363 – Summer Garden

PE: Fusion Card Challenge Honorable Mention! πŸ™‚

It took a long time for me to decide that I really did want to buy the Simon Says Stamp Summer Garden stamp set – I was really skeptical about buying more flower-themed stamp sets. But this one just won me over in the end! πŸ™‚

I first stamped the flowers and leaves in distress inks and colored them in. I used Fired Brick, Mustard Seed, Pine Needles and Crushed Olive distress inks for both stamping and coloring. I then die cut them using the co-ordinating dies.

For the background, I sponged in some Antique Linen ink and then Spiced Marmalade distress inks on a card panel. I then marked and fussy cut the curved space for the sentiment. I marked the area on the card base, stamped the sentiment from Inkadinkado Floral Expression using Memento Tuxedo Black (and erased the markings, of course! ;)) I then assembled the card. I used foam tape to mount the colored base, and then adhered the flowers and leaves using Multi Medium Matte.

I am submitting this to Fusion Card Challenge: Warm Welcome, Just Us Girls #319: Watercoloring and Shopping Out Stash #228: Thanks

Love Birds

I made a card, this time, indicating the new beginnings of a newly wedded couple. I have made anniversary cards before, but none for weddings. And I pretty much like how this has turned out πŸ™‚

I used Tim Holtz Rays stencil with Spiced Marmalade and Ripe Persimmon distress inks on a card panel and trimmed it to size. I then die cut the frame using Square dies from Itsy Bitsy and the birds usingΒ Birds from Impression Obsession from some gold & silver metallic paper from DCWV Textures and Finishes stack. I then foam mounted the card panel and adhered the frame and foam mounted birds. The sentiment is from a stamp set from The Craft’s Meow (whose name I don’t know) stamped using Memento Tuxedo Black.
