#667 – Hedgehog Hellos

Hello (from me, not the hedgehogs.. you’ll have to scroll down a bit for the hedgehogs..;P) Made this CAS critter card with a cute hedgehog sprinting with a heart to say hello!

Just A Little Hello

To make this card, I first cut out the word bubbles from watercolor paper using Winnie & Walter Sketchy Thoughts dies, then stamped the lil critters in each of them using Vintage Photo distress ink. I then watercolored each panel using distress inks, then mounted them all on a grey card base, creating a dimension difference between the bubbles, by mounting them at different heights (ah! I should have taken a side shot too, to show that!!).

Just A Little Hello

The sentiment comes from Concord & 9th Hello Lovely. I die cut the panel using Paper Smooches Borders 2 and added the stitched line using Lawn Fawn Stitched Borders die. Finally I added a few Nuvo Drops for embellishing.

#666 – Seize the Birthday – Balloons

Hello! Its time for a new challenge at Seize the Birthday. The topping this time is to use ‘Balloons’ on your birthday themed project. Of course, as usual, there us also an optional “toppings” challenge, and as long as your project is birthday-related, it’s worthy of entry!

Seize The Birthday - The Toppings

Seize The Birthday - Anything Goes

For my inspirational card, I chose going CAS, with a critter and balloons!

Birthday Wishes

I wanted this card to focus on the colorful butterfly, so I didn’t color the critter. And its totally quick and easy to make… I simply stamped the critter from Simon Says Stamp Gifts of Love in black ink, and colored only the scarf using Zig Brush pens. I then stamped the balloons, fromΒ Simon Says Stamp Birthday Bits in various pigment inks. Finally stamped the balloon strings and bows along with the sentiment, which is also from Simon Says Stamp Birthday Bits. I then die cut this card using My Favorite Things Blueprints 27 and foam mounted it over a white cardstock. That’s it, done! πŸ™‚

#644 – Sovushka Slavia: Card Sketch Challenge

Hello! I am so humbled to be invited as a Guest Designer at the Sovushka Slavia blog! I absolutely love their CAS Sketches! And the inspiration that the DT provides… absolutely spectacular.. every single time!!! So, you might guess that I was a little intimidated.. but the sketch was so pretty, every other thought went out of my mind!

Sketch

I love those little repeat patterns – I wish I had a stamp or stencil exactly like it!! But I don’t, so I repeated something else instead! πŸ˜€

Hello

I used My Favorite Things Bold Blooms stamp set, which I newly added to my stash. I used distress inks to stamp the flowers, misting them before stamping. I love th soft look of the flowers in this, so pretty!

Once done, I thought of trimming the panel before adhering it to card base, but then had a thought of reversing this – so I added a frame that I had die cut and left over from a previous project on top of this panel, instead.

Hello

Now for the sentiment, I used WPlus9 Hello die. I thought of adding some texture or pattern on the die cut before adding it to my card. I used My Favorite Things Pinstripes stamp for this. I first stamped the card with the same dark pink I used on the flowers,Β  twice more with the lighter pink, then carefully making sure that the there is white space between the operlapped stamped stripes. I then die cut the scrap cardstock piece, along with several others, then stacked them and adhered it on the card. I then stamped the rest of the sentiment, from Altenew Beautiful Lady stamp set, using Hero Arts Soft Granite Ink.

I hope you stop by the Sovushka Slavia blog, where they have the DT providing some absolutely grand cards, get inspired and play along!

Top 3 at Sovushka Slavia Challenge!! πŸ™‚

Sovushka Slavia - Top

Hello! Its been quite a long time since I worked on a Muse challenge, and the latest challenge at Sovushka Slavia intrigued me. Its a beautiful card by Vera Rhuhay and I definitely thought of CASEing it as soon as I saw it, even though I had no ideas on what to do at that time. But I finally made this card today –

You Are Amazing

Its a very simple card I made. I used distress oxide ink (yup, finally got it!!) for the pink background, and embossed it using We R Memory Keepers Geometry embossing folder (see last photo).. then added fussy cut flowers, and stamped on the sentiment. The layout and the colors are inspired by my muse’s pretty card! πŸ™‚

You Are Amazing

Supplies used:
My Favorite Things Buildable Blooms
Distress inks for watercoloring the flowers and leaves
We R Memory Keepers Geometry embossing folder
Waffle Flower In Every Way and Concord and 9th Hello Lovely (sentiment)
My Favorite Things Pinking Edge Square
Nuvo Drops for embellishment

You Are Amazing

Sovushka Slavia Top 3!!

…especially since it is not a Monday! Whoever agrees, raise your hand! πŸ˜›

Well, I just wanted to use this pretty stamp set that I recently got – Happy Day from Waffle Flower! And what more motivation than having challenges which are just the right combination! πŸ˜€

A Good Day to be Happy

This card completely evolved from the initial image – not changed, evolved. That’s because the original image is still the same, all the changes came on top of it! πŸ™‚

I started with stamping only the bear and the butterfly, using Hero Arts Charcoal ink. I wanted to color the bear blackish-grey, hence the color choice. In fact, the original idea was just to have the bear and the butterfly in the card.. you can see how that ended up!

A Good Day to be Happy

Anyway, I colored everything using my Faber Castell color pencils. Once done, I realized the plain white background wasn’t looking good, so I added the soft blue background, then I realized the other side of the card was looking too empty, so I ended up adding more plants there.. you see how it went.. the evolution?? πŸ˜€

Finally I ended up with this card. The sentiment is from the same stamp set. I added a few splatters before adding it to the panel and adding it to a grey card base.
