#792 – Stamping on Alcohol Inked Background

Hello! I made a card from one of the sheets with alcohol ink applied – I had written a post on it some time ago. This is one of the backgrounds I had made then, but hadn’t used.

I adhered it to a piece of a light yellow card base, trimmed it and stamped the image from Ellen Hutson Mondo Sakura using Archival black ink. Actually, my initial idea had been to use the ink to remove the alcohol ink. But that resulted in the image being so invisible, that I decided to do the reverse and stamped it in black ink.

Since I was using my MISTI, I stamped the image once again on a light yellow card base. I also stamped the sentiments, from the same stamp set. I then trimmed the card base and also foam mounted the alcohol ink panel on top. Finally proceeded to add some multi colored gemstones for embellishing.

#757 – Wishing You…

PE: Winner at CAS-ual Fridays Challenge!!!

Winner at Winnie & Walter challenge!! Yay!!

Hello! I was left with quite a few pieces of flowers and leaves after making this card I would send to a friend, so I thought of using them up. This card came about real quick, since all I had to do was arrange the already cut pieces and adhere them on the card!

2018-06-04(2a)

The flowers and leaves are all from Winnie & Walter In Bloom: Victoria’s Very Merry Flowers. I have this set of cardstock which is just perfect for watercolor effects, and images which are misted with water and stamped look especially pretty. 🙂 So, I first stamped several images from the stamp set onto this cardstock, fussy cut them and kept them ready.

Like I mentioned earlier, the flowers are leftovers from another card I made. The sentiment comes from Winnie & Walter Wishing You.

#749 – Enjoy Your Day

Hello! I am so very pleased and honored to be joining the Sovushka Slavia Sketch Challenge as a Guest Designer yet again. This is one of my favorite challenges, which requires CAS cards and the sketches are beautiful. Here’s the sketch for the latest challenge –

And here’s what I made –

2018-04-12(1a)

I used the Paper Trey Ink Mighty Bloom die cut twice, on Yellow and white card stock, and adhered these on some newsprint. Laying this at an angle, I foam mounted it on a white card base and trimmed off the excess. The sentiment is die cut from Paper Trey Ink Wet Paint die, stacked and adhered on the die cut. The stamped part of the sentiment is from the co-ordinating stamp set, Paper Trey Ink Wet Paint, which I have white heat embossed, before adhering it to the card.

#725 – Dichrome Card

PE: Winner at Sovushka Slavia Card Sketch!!

Sovushka Slavia - Challenge Winner

Hello! I’ve done a few monochromatic cards before, but not so many with just two colors. You know how it is with some colors – you think they won’t gel well together until you see proof that they do! Its the same with this particular combination of light pink and teal. Its just beautiful!

I am actually CASEing this beautiful card from Heather Hoffman. Look at that pretty pattern paper on the balloon – love it!

I used stamps from 4 stamp sets from Winnie & Walter on this card – In Bloom: Carolina’s Flowers, In Bloom: Lola’s Bouquet, In Bloom: Victoria’s Very Merry Flowers and Sketchy Thoughts and 2 die sets – Big Balloon Cutaways and Sketchy Thoughts (not counting the co ordinating die cut for the ‘Happy’). And of course, just two colors for stamping! 🙂

#717 – Guest Designing for Sovushka Slavia CASEing Challenge

Hello! I am super excited to be joining the Sovushka Slavia CASEing Challenge as a Guest Designer! Its one of the challenges that I am always eager to play, and it is wonderful to be able to join them this time!

For this CASEing challenge, we are CASEing Laurie Willison. Here’s her simple and beautiful card –

Love the kraft base, the clean embossing and the minimal coloring! My CASEd version carries a neutral card base, embossing and the minimal coloring (?) using three colors –

2018-01-18(1a)

I used Simon Says Stamp Emma stamp, stamped it on gray cardstock using Versafine Onyx Black ink and then clear heat embossed it. I then watercolored portions of the image using red, pink and blue perfect pearls. They are just perfect for watercoloring and getting that beautiful satin shine! Love it!!

2018-01-18(1b)

Once that dried, I trimmed the panel, then mounted it on a white card base. I then added a circle of vellum die cut using Mama Elephant Dew Fancy dies. I finally added the sentiment, stacked, die cut using the Memory Box Hello Script die.

2018-01-18(1c)

Since the shine of the embossing and the perfect pearls was plenty, I refrained from adding any more embellishments.

I am also joining the following challenges with my card –

Tic Tac Toe challenge #31 (I chose Pink, Red and Light Blue)
