Hello and welcome! We’re actually in the last month of the year!! Wow!! That came really quickly!! But on schedule, we’ll continue having the Happy Little Stampers challenges this month as well. We’re starting with Watercolor challenge.

And this is what I made for your inspiration –
I used the poinsettia from Stamplorations Christmas Flower. To stamp this, I mounted this on my MISTI first, since I planned to stamp it multiple times. I first used brighter shades of yellow, red and green distress inks, misted it well with water and stamped it. Since I had misted a lot of water, it pooled on the watercolor paper, which I used to spread the color. Where the pooled color wasn’t enough, I used some extra ink + water to add the color.
Once dry, I stamped again using darker shades, this time with lesser misting of water. Before everything dried, I used a wet brush to spread the colors outside the flower, adding extra color wherever required. I also added brown, covering the rest of the white space. Once completely dry, I added quite a bit of splatters, and also stamped a bit on the panel using a script/font stamp from Tim Holtz’s Entomology stamp set.

Once everything was dry, I die cut a panel from the paper using My Favorite Things Stitched Wonky Rectangle. I then mounted it on a white card base. For the sentiment, I stamped the sentiment from Paper Smooches Winter Sampler and used a frame stamp from Paper Smooches Fancy Frames, and I used partial stamping to cover the whole sentiment. I then trimmed it and adhered it on the card. Finally, I added a few yellow gemstones to the poinsettia’s center to embellish.
And that’s my card! Do checkout what the rest of the DT created in the Happy Little Stampers blog and join us with your watercolor projects as well!
Thank you so much for stopping by!
