#913 – Rosy Love

PE: Watercooler Rocker at Watercooler Wednesday challenge!

Watercolor Wednesday - Honorable Mention

Hello and welcome to yet another challenge we have up at the Tic Tac Toe challenge! We have a new theme for January – ‘Love/Wedding’ and the board this time is created by LeAnne –

I chose the mid row – Red/Dry Embossing/Designer Paper – and here’s what I made –

Over my card base, I first added a white card panel embossed with Altenew Flowers & Leaves embossing folder. I then added a layer of designer paper from Best of American Crafts paper pad. Wow! Its been so long since I used designer paper!! 😀

Then over, another piece of designer paper, from CrafTangles The Wanderer Collection, I stamped the rose from Concord & 9th Painted Rose and die cut it. I die cut an additional layer using scrap cardstock and adhered it below the die cut pattern paper for support. I then adhered it to my card.

The sentiment, from Altenew Label Love, I stamped in green and then trimmed it and matted it over a black card stock strip. I then adhered it over my card. I also added a couple of sequins for embellishing.

And that’s it! That finished my card. And I’m joining the following challenges –

#857 – A Sympathy Card

Hello and welcome. This time I’ve made a card, that most card-makers would prefer not to make – a sympathy card. I’ve sent it out to a very dear fellow blogger, Monika, who recently lost her young son in an accident. My heart aches for her – what a terrible thing to go though.. 😦

2020-03-13(1a)

To make this card, I first used the dies from My Favorite Things Birds of a Feather and Pretty Fresh Studio Dainty Blossoms, watercolored them and kept them aside to dry. On the card base, I embossed using one of the die cuts from Winnie & Walter Essentials: Lana Cutaways. I then adhered the die cut pieces and then stamped sentiment from Reverse Confetti Banner in Bloom using MFT Hybrid Black ink.

I hope Monika finds solace soon.

#842 – Christmas Wishes

Hello! I’ve been thinking of sending Christmas cards to friends who celebrate, but wasn’t able to for the last few years. This year, I finally was able to plan properly and send them out on time – so they will hopefully receive them before the festival! But I hope they do forgive me for publishing it before they receive it!

So here’s card number one –

2019-12-01(1a)

{Pardon me for the grainy, blurry images, but I had to send all the cards and was in a hurry to take the photos, and the cloudy weather outside was not being my friend!}

To make a quick card, I made use of the pretty prints from the Elements pack from CrafTangles, called Christmas Animals. The animals are totally adorable, and the prints and paper are of a good quality too. I cut this particular deer in a bauble by hand, and foam mounted it on a grey toned cardstock on which I had splattered some Picket Fence distress paint.

2019-12-01(1b)

I thought of adding a little green and red to the card by imitating the flowers on the little rabbit’s head. I used leaf dies from Pink Fresh Studio’s Dainty Blossoms and the flower dies from Paper Smooches’ Flowers to die cut water color paper, water colored them and then adhered them on the card. The sentiment, from Neat and Tangled Winter Wishes stamp, came in the end.

With this card, I am joining the following challenges –

#792 – Stamping on Alcohol Inked Background

Hello! I made a card from one of the sheets with alcohol ink applied – I had written a post on it some time ago. This is one of the backgrounds I had made then, but hadn’t used.

I adhered it to a piece of a light yellow card base, trimmed it and stamped the image from Ellen Hutson Mondo Sakura using Archival black ink. Actually, my initial idea had been to use the ink to remove the alcohol ink. But that resulted in the image being so invisible, that I decided to do the reverse and stamped it in black ink.

2018-08-19(1a)

Since I was using my MISTI, I stamped the image once again on a light yellow card base. I also stamped the sentiments, from the same stamp set. I then trimmed the card base and also foam mounted the alcohol ink panel on top. Finally proceeded to add some multi colored gemstones for embellishing.

#783 – In focus!

PE: CAS On Friday Favorite!!

CAS on Sunday - Honorable Mention

Hello! Since I watercolored quite a few cards these past few days (well, some are yet to be published here…) I thought of switching gears a bit. So after going through some challenges that I thought of joining, I made a CAS card –

2018-08-14(1a)

To make this card, I first cut an oval shape out of some scrap paper, to use it as a mask. I used this on a white card base to apply Fozzilised Amber distress oxide ink. On another piece of scrap white cardstock, I stamped the butterflies using MFT Hybrid Black ink. After fussy cutting these, I foam mounted them on the card base

I then colored another piece with Worn Lipstick and Candied Apple distress oxide inks and die cut the letters ‘hi’ using Lawn Fawn Quinn’s ABCs dies. However, when I places it on the yellow backdrop, it wasn’t looking that good, so I added a little Wild Honey on the top. I then stacked this die with a few more pieces and adhered it to the card. I then stamped the rest of the sentiment, from Ellen Hutson Totally Random Sayings Vol 1, using MFT Hybrid Black ink. Finally added a few dots around the butterflies using a black pen.

I totally loved how that yellow ink forms a real quick and easy backdrop, but brings everything into focus so easily! And that bright yellow – totally love that! 🙂
