#523 – Love you a Bunch

PE: Topper at Lesia Zgharda!!

Hello! Made this card a couple of days ago for the current Waffle Flower challenge –

I first die cut the circles using Paper Trey Ink Circles die, and colored a few of the circles using Faber Castell oil pastels. I then did dry embossing using the same die on another panel. This time, I first added ink on the die cutting plate using Memento Brilliance Galaxy Gold before doing the embossing. I then trimmed down the panel and foam mounted the colored circles in place.

For the flowers, I stamped them on scrap cardstock using Memento Tuxedo Black and stamped the solid parts using Hero Arts Neon Blue, Hero Arts Butter Bar and Memento Pear Tart and then fuzzy cut them. I was contemplating on how to arrange them on the card, but decided to keep it for later. Now, I had kept the whole thing stacked on my work table, and when I picked it up again the next day, a happy accident happened. I had arranged the flowers, as a bunch, right where I’ve placed the sentiment now, but when I picked it up, the flowers had scattered – exactly as you see it on the card now! I absolutely loved this scattered arrangement, and decided to go with it. And so, I just adhered the flowers as is, and then added the sentiment, from the same stamp set, stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black, and adhered it on the card.

#516 – A Step Garden…or Something Like It

PE: Winner at Waffle Flower Challenge!! (Can you believe it?!?)

After trying and failing with a lot of ideas, I finally came up with this card. But even so, its not really what I had imagined. What I thought of was a card with something like a step garden – it would seem like there are flowers growing at different layers. I couldn’t exactly achieve this effect, but I still like how it has ended up, so I am going ahead with this card! 🙂

I first created the different layers of the card by diecutting different panels using WPlus9 Scalloped Border die. I then stamped the outline flowers and leaves from Waffle Flower Leafy using Memento Tuxedo Black, and then the solid ones using Memento Dandelion, Mustard Seed DI, Tumbled Glass DI, Broken China DI, Memento Pear Tart and Memento Bamboo Leaves. I then blended in a little bit of Memento Pear Tart over the bottom of the visible portion of each layer, so that the layers were clearly distinguishable.

Finally stamped the sentiment from the same stamp set, mounted all the layers using foam tape (so, this card has too much dimension, can’t be mailed 😦 ). I couldn’t think of anything for embellishing it, so I just added a few dots using a black pen.

And that’s my card. I am submitting it to the Waffle Flower August Challenge  –

#502 – Stamped Flowers

…and I am back to stamping flowers! 😀 That’s the best and sure shot way of getting a beautiful card, I guess!

My first card consists of MFT Modern Blooms. I used simple stamping technique with Memento Dandelion, Memento Pear Tart, Hero Arts Soft Pool and PTI Sweet Blush inks to prepare a panel of these pretty flowers. Once done, I trimmed it to stripes, mounted them on the card base using foam tape. I then addded a strip of kraft card stock, adhered the ‘you’ from MFT Love & Adore You and then the stamped sentiment piece, from Paper Smooches Fancy Frames, stamped using Memento Tuxedo Black. I then used some kraft die cut buttons from Impression Obsessions Buttons die cuts to embellish.

My second card is completely done using the Waffle Flower Leafy stamp set (except for a little die cutting and embellishing, of course! ;))

I first stamped the sentiment and the flowers and leaves outlines using Memento Tuxedo Black, then stamped the counterpart – solid stamps of the same images using colored inks – Hero Arts Bubble Gum, Butter Bar, Neon Blue and Memento Bamboo Leaves.I stamped the images such that they were forming circles around the sentiment – going clockwise for the first circle, then anti-clockwise the next, and so on.

Once done, I die cut a circle from one of the edge. Now, I wanted the die cut to be partially stamped wit the images (notice the bottom half without the continuation of the flowers and leaves?), so I re-stamped the images in the same position using my trusty MISTI. 🙂 I like the effect, but I am not sure whether this was the best design to showcase it.. Anyway, I proceeded to trim the outer panel, and to round the corners before tying some string on it and adhering it to the card base. I then adhered the round panel directly to the card base and finally embellished it some more using dots of silver stickles (glittering enamel dots??)

#477 – A Couple of Color Challenges

I made a couple of cards based on two color challenges.

The first card is for Waffle Flower May Challenge. I used the leftover piece from another card, that I had made for the same challenge, in this card –

I stamped a couple of more flowers using Waffle Flower In Every Way using Memento Summer Sky, Memento Grape Jelly and Memento Cottage Ivy and fuzzy cut the flowers.

For the background, I used pattern paper from Best of Heidi Swapp. I topped it with a panel of card stock I die cut using Simon Says Stamp Stitched Rectangles. I then added a vertical stripe of washi tape, then the flowery stripe, a piece of vellum and then adhered the flowers on top. The sentiment is from WPlus9 Basic Banners, stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black. The card is also adorned with a few small pearls.

I am also submitting this card to Simon Says Stamp Work It Wednesday Challenge: Flowers and Timeout Challenge #57: May all your weeds be wild flowers

SSS - Wednesday Challenge

My second card is for the My Favorite Things Color Challenge #45

I first water-colored a watercolor paper panel using PTI Hibiscus Burst, Spiced Marmalade DI, Mowed Lawn DI and Mermaid Lagoon DI. Once it was dry, I stamped it with My Favorite Things Lacy Background and heat embossed it in white. I also die cut the panel using Simon Says Stamp Stitched Rectangle. I then die cut My Favorite Things Pierced Fancy Flourish from black card stock and adhered it to the card along with the sentiment, from Hero Arts All Occasion Messages.

For embellishing, I added loads of glitter on the flourish and the sentiment label using my Wink of Stella clear glitter pen – that looks gorgeous, pity I couldn’t capture it in the photos – and also a few black rhinestones.

#473 – Waffle Flower May Challenge

I have a card today that is inspired by the Waffle Flower May Challenge

I don’t know about you, but what I saw in the image, is lots and lots of florals and colors – a ton of them! I used about every color in the image, not just the ones in the side. I would have preferred getting some closely placed flowers and leaves, but that didn’t work for me, so I used some overlapping flowers instead.

I used my pigment inks for making the pattern paper. I rarely use my pigment inks, and for no good reason.. so, since I saw that I have pigment inks for most of the colors, I decided to go ahead and put them to good use. I used inks from ColorBox and Versamark. The flowers and leaves are from A Bunch, In Every Way and Leafy stamp sets.

Once the panel was dry, I cut off a piece of it (used in another card, which I haven’t made yet :P) and adhered it over the card base, after adding a piece of grid washi tape on it.

I then stamped the sentiment, from In Every Way, using more pigment inks and Memento Tuxedo Black ink (yeah, I don’t have a good black pigment ink :)) along with the single flower from A Bunch. While fuzzy cutting them I felt that the paper I used was different, thicker than what I usually use, and so, you see a some wrinkles from it. Nevertheless, they look pretty. 🙂 Once done, I adhered them using Ranger Multi Medium Matte.
