#839 – Merry and Bright

Hello! Continuing from the post yesterday, this is the second card I made during my free time yesterday. I got inspired by the Winnie & Walter Color Combo challenge which is hosted by Heather. The colors are beautiful this time too!! But before that, here’s what I made –

2019-11-02(1a)

I started with stamping the images that I wanted to use – they all came from In Bloom: Victorias Very Merry Flowers, plus a few die cuts from In Bloom: Paulina’s Greenery. I used dye inks, misted them and then stamped them, giving them a watercolored look. Once they dried, I fussy cut them. On the die cut piece, I blended in a bit of green tinted distress oxide inks.

On the card base, I adhered a piece embossed using We R Memory Keepers Geometric embossing folder and trimmed the sides from. On this I adhered all the fussy cut and die cut pieces, foam mounting a few of the flowers, some of them partially even.

Coming to the sentiment – I used In a Word Merry Co-ordinating dies. I cut the shadow using vellum and white cardstock using the word die, which I then colored a bright red using Zig Brush marker, which I adhered together. The stamped piece of the sentiment comes from In Bloom: Victorias Very Merry Flowers, which I stamped and then fussy cut. I adhered the all the pieces using foam tape.

For embellishing, I added a few tiny drops of Nuvo Silver Lining crystal drops on the center of the flowers and also added sparkle using Spectrum Noir clear sparkle pen. This finished my card!

#830 – Seize The Birthday: Flowers

PE: Winner at Winnie & Walter Color Combo challenge!!

Hello! I totally forgot to write my post for the Seize the Birthday challenge. 😦 But better late than never!! 🙂 So the topping for the new challenge, given by Vicki, is to use Flowers. Of course, the topping is optional, and as long as your project is birthday-related, it’s worthy of entry.

Here’s the card I made –

2019-07-13(1a-logo)

I started with the florals. I used Winnie & Walter In Bloom: Ashlees Rosie Posies with Lydia Evans, stamping the outline in black ink, and once I finished stamping the colored layers, I used a black pen to thicken some of the lines. I then used Neat & Tangled Scalloped die to diecut the panel. I wanted to mount this on a grey panel, but I didn’t have the right color. So I used my Zig brush marker to color a white card panel and trimmed it to size to use it for base. I mounted this on a white card base.

For the sentiment, I used Scripty Sentiments from The Stamp Market, stamped it in grey ink; the other piece of the sentiment comes from Winnie & Walter Sentimental: Birthday. I then fuzzy cut it. Both pieces are foam mounted on the floral panel.

#790 – You Are Amazing

Hello! I made this card to send to a dear crafting friend, Sandie and now that it has long since reached her, I am sharing it! Such a charming lady filled with drive – that’s what I felt after just a few mail exchanges. And I made this card to suite that feeling I had.

I tried to make it a bright card, so, tried making it with lots of flower/leaf layering.. and I am quite happy with how it has turned out! … and I hope she liked it too!! 🙂

2018-06-04(1a)

I kept the images ready by stamping them with distress inks, misted with water. The flowers and leaves are all from Winnie & Walter In Bloom: Victoria’s Very Merry Flowers. I had shared another card which used the leftovers from this project earlier here.

2018-06-04(1b)

Once I decided how to arrange the florals, I proceeded to the base… which took a long time.. a very long time. In the end, I die cut the pieces using Lil Inker Designs Pointelle die and used distress paints Antiqued Bronze and Tarnished Brass. I like how the texture and mix of color makes it look like wood, but still will carry some shine with it. Once dried, I adhered it directly over the card base, then adhered the flowers on it.

2018-06-04(1c)

For the sentiment, I used stacked up die cut pieces, which I die cut using Altenew Inline Alpha dies. The other part of the sentiment is from Avery Elle Laurels, which I heat embossed with two layers of copper embossing and one layer of clear sparkle embossing.

And extravagant card in the end..

#778 – A Beautiful Day with a Yellow Birdie

PE: Winner at Winnie & Walter Color Combo with Heather H!!! Yippie!!

Hello! This time I tried making a card with a birdie, with a little scenery to suite. Its sitting amidst blooming yellow flowers on a tree branch –

2018-07-25(1a)

Past cards carrying critters/birdies, I haven’t tried much to create my own scenic background – it was mostly stamping, so I thought of giving it a try this time. I stamped the bird first, and then the branch in a very light grey, then stamped the flowers and then the leaves (with the flowers masked). I then added brown to the branch, so that it would fall behind the flowers and the birdie.

I stamped, colored and fussy cut the birdie and the larger flowers separately. Before adhering them to the panel, I trimmed it and die cut it. At this point, I thought there was still a lot of white amidst the branch and leaves and everything – wasn’t exactly looking like a tree. So, I added some more greens by dabbing color using Zig brush pens – actually, I scribbled off some ink off an plastic sheet, then watercolored it, so that I could alter the shades to soft or darker. I still left quite some space – wonder if I should try to cover that too, the next time?? Anyway, after letting the whole thing dry, I adhered it to a yellow card base.

Products used –
Winnie & Walter In Bloom: Ashlee’s Rosie Posies with Lydia Evans
Winnie & Walter Happy Owlidays
Altenew Vintage Flowers (for the branch)
Lawn Fawn Stitched Borders
Paper Smooches Borders 2

#757 – Wishing You…

PE: Winner at CAS-ual Fridays Challenge!!!

CAS-ual Fridays - Winner

Winner at Winnie & Walter challenge!! Yay!!

Hello! I was left with quite a few pieces of flowers and leaves after making this card I would send to a friend, so I thought of using them up. This card came about real quick, since all I had to do was arrange the already cut pieces and adhere them on the card!

2018-06-04(2a)

The flowers and leaves are all from Winnie & Walter In Bloom: Victoria’s Very Merry Flowers. I have this set of cardstock which is just perfect for watercolor effects, and images which are misted with water and stamped look especially pretty. 🙂 So, I first stamped several images from the stamp set onto this cardstock, fussy cut them and kept them ready.

2018-06-04(2b)

Like I mentioned earlier, the flowers are leftovers from another card I made. The sentiment comes from Winnie & Walter Wishing You.
