#778 – A Beautiful Day with a Yellow Birdie

PE: Winner at Winnie & Walter Color Combo with Heather H!!! Yippie!!

Hello! This time I tried making a card with a birdie, with a little scenery to suite. Its sitting amidst blooming yellow flowers on a tree branch –

Have a Beautiful Day

Past cards carrying critters/birdies, I haven’t tried much to create my own scenic background – it was mostly stamping, so I thought of giving it a try this time. I stamped the bird first, and then the branch in a very light grey, then stamped the flowers and then the leaves (with the flowers masked). I then added brown to the branch, so that it would fall behind the flowers and the birdie.

I stamped, colored and fussy cut the birdie and the larger flowers separately. Before adhering them to the panel, I trimmed it and die cut it. At this point, I thought there was still a lot of white amidst the branch and leaves and everything – wasn’t exactly looking like a tree. So, I added some more greens by dabbing color using Zig brush pens – actually, I scribbled off some ink off an plastic sheet, then watercolored it, so that I could alter the shades to soft or darker. I still left quite some space – wonder if I should try to cover that too, the next time?? Anyway, after letting the whole thing dry, I adhered it to a yellow card base.

Products used –
Winnie & Walter In Bloom: Ashlee’s Rosie Posies with Lydia Evans
Winnie & Walter Happy Owlidays
Altenew Vintage Flowers (for the branch)

#757 – Wishing You…

PE: Winner at CAS-ual Fridays Challenge!!!

CAS-ual Fridays - Winner

Winner at Winnie & Walter challenge!! Yay!!

Hello! I was left with quite a few pieces of flowers and leaves after making this card I would send to a friend, so I thought of using them up. This card came about real quick, since all I had to do was arrange the already cut pieces and adhere them on the card!

Wishing You...

The flowers and leaves are all from Winnie & Walter In Bloom: Victoria’s Very Merry Flowers. I have this set of cardstock which is just perfect for watercolor effects, and images which are misted with water and stamped look especially pretty. 🙂 So, I first stamped several images from the stamp set onto this cardstock, fussy cut them and kept them ready.

Wishing You...

Like I mentioned earlier, the flowers are leftovers from another card I made. The sentiment comes from Winnie & Walter Wishing You.

PE: Happy Little Stampers Watercolor Challenge Favorite!

Happy Little Stampers - Watercolour Favourite Badge

Hello! I made a watercolored card with not line watercoloring after so long! And I still wonder why I can never get the tulips right! 😉

Thanks

The images are all from Winnie & Walter Addie’s Garden stamp set, which I stamped in a light gray and then watercolored using Prima watercolor pencils. For the background, I used Brusho colors. Once the watercolor panel dried, I die cut it using Neat & Tangled Scalloped die, and also die cut the sentiment ‘Thanks’. The thanks die cut was something I got as a freebie from Winnie & Walter on a purchase some time ago. After adhering the die cut sentiment by stacking black cardstock underneath, I also stamped the rest of the sentiment, from Winnie & Walter Sentimental: Birthday stamp, using black pigment ink. I also added some shimmer, using Spectrum Noir clear sparkle pen, on the sentiment die cut and some strokes on the rest of the images, which is completely invisible in the picture above!

#731 – Love You Tag

Hello and welcome! So, after the last card, I felt that I had to try the technique again, and this time, no dimensions! I also thought to change it up to a tag, rather than make a card again –

Love You (Tag)

I used the same die cut for the letters – Winnie & Walter Typecase Cary Letters, and the flowers In Bloom: Eva’s Favorite Flowers, and a mix of MFT Stitched Mini Scallop Rectangles and WPlus9 Timeless Tags 2 to create the tag itself.

#730 – Pink in Love

PE: Top 3 at A2ZScrapbooking Challenge!!

A2ZScrapbooking - Honorable Mention

Hello! I am back with another project for the Winnie & Walter 4th Birthday Bash challenges.

I’ve been wanting to try this out for quite some time now, but didn’t really get the idea right in my mind. I wanted to achieve the look of some the stamps now-a-days which, so charmingly, combine words with flower images. I think I am half there – since I’ve used dies to achieve this look, and not stamps! 😉

Love You

Here’s how I made it – I first die cut the letters, then laid them back in place using temporary tape from behind. I then stamped the flowers, added all the dots. Then, I separated the die cut letters and colored portions of the die cuts using a black Zig brush pen.

Later, I die cut the panel and turned it to a shaker card using silver sequins, and mounted it on a pink card base.

Love You

The only thing I would change about this card, is to not make it a shaker, and keep the levels of the letters same as the rest of the card. Somehow the effect I wanted is not showcased well in this card 😦 But, since I did partially did get what I wanted, I am gonna say I am happy! 🙂

Products used on this card include (all Winnie & Walter products) –
Typecast Cary Letters
In Bloom: Victoria’s Very Merry Flowers
Essentials: Lana’s Cutaways

#729 – Love with Non-traditional Colors

Hello! I managed to make a few more projects for the Winnie & Walter 4th Birthday Bash challenges. Here’s the first of a couple more –

Love Everything About You

I stamped the flowers and leaves from In Bloom: Eva’s Favorite Flowers repeatedly. I then roughly cut out a mask for the two section of flowers, and stamped the graph using Hero Arts Graph stamp. I also added a few spots around the flowers and in the flower centers for some accents After die cutting it using Essentials: Lana’s Cutaways, I foam mounted it on a brown card base. The sentiments come from The Big, The Bold and Happy stamp set.

I am joining the following Winnie & Walter 4th Birthday Bash challenges – Repetitive Stamping challenge with Crystal and Grid challenge with Keren.

#728 – Seize the Birthday – Coffee or Tea

Hello and welcome to yet another new challenge at Seize the Birthday! This time we have the optional topping of ‘Coffee or Tea’, meaning you can join us with a birthday project carrying a coffee or tea theme, or, if it is not your thing, you are free to join us with any birthday project at all – your choice!

Seize The Birthday - The Toppings

Seize The Birthday - Anything Goes

I, of course, chose to go with the topping. And here’s what I created –

Warm Wishes

I first stamped the flowery wreath on a white card panel, then die cut the coffee cup. I then added a backing to the panel, stacked the coffee cup die cut with some more die cuts, then replaced it. I made sure to add lesser die cuts to the inner parts of the die cut, so they are all at different levels. Finally, I trimmed the panel to an almost square panel.

I then added BnW damask pattern paper on another piece of cardstock, and layered the two panels on a white card base. Finally, I added sentiment and the heart.

Here’s the list of products I used –

Winnie & Walter In Bloom: Victoria’s Very Merry Flowers
Paper Smooches Cozy Coffee
Paper Smooches Warm Wishes
Lawn Fawn Stitched Borders
pattern paper from Recollections Black and White paper pad
