#592 – Modern Art Marbling

PE: Gossip Queen at Taheerah’s Gossip Column challenge!! Yay!! πŸ˜€

At least, that is how this one looks like to me! πŸ˜‰

Modern Art Marbling - Hello

The only time consuming thing in this card is drawing all those separating lines. I had to draw them using a pencil first, then color and then retrace the lines. But if you are confidant enough to draw them using a pen the first time, it becomes even faster.

Modern Art Marbling - Hello

And here’s my inspiration picture, also from Taheerah’s Gossip Column post –

https://i0.wp.com/www.taheerah-atchia.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/01/marble-dress.jpg

In retrospect, I can clearly see that the lines in my card are a bit harsher. A bit more fluid would have looked a lot better. Like my sister said, they look like lightening bolts.. albeit colorful. Its like the card is threatening with a hello rather than greeting a hello!! πŸ˜€ πŸ˜€ Lesson learnt! πŸ˜‰

Products used: Winnie & Walter In a Word: Hello cutaway, Zig brush pens, Uniball Signo black gel pen. And transparent sequins.

#591 – Marbling Using Zig Brush Pens

Hello! Playing along with The Gossip Column with Taheerah Atchia | No.6 – Marble, is really making me try some new stuff.

d2974-the-gossip-column-lssue-6

I spent the whole of yesterday, trying to get a marbled effect using just watercolors. Any type of watercolors, but watercoloring in essential. I wanted to try something other than those nail polishes, shaving cream or even alcohol ink marbling techniques..I was craving for some technique that would use watercolors, since they are my absolute favorite media. And by the end of the day, I had used quite a few watercolor panels, most of them, completely not looking marbled… but some of them did look marbled (yay!) And here’s one card made out of one of those that did –

Great Day

This is the inspiration image from Taheerah’s challenge. I know, it doesn’t look much like the image, but… I tried! πŸ˜€ And I am happy enough to try the technique again.. so there!! πŸ˜‰

https://i0.wp.com/www.taheerah-atchia.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/01/marble-wedding-cake.jpg

I used Zig Brush pens to create the marbled paper. The flowers are from Winnie & Walter In Bloom: Lola’s Bouquet stamp set. I made a colored and misted background for the purple flower, and colored the other flower the usual way – all using the Zig Brush pens. The leaves are from Marianne Designs Daisy and Leaves die. The sentiment is a mix from The Big, The Bold and Party and The Big, The Bold and Extras.

Great Day

Once I brought all the pieces together, I added some Spectrum Noir clear sparkle on the flowers, black glitter stickles on the purple flower, Nuvo Crystal Drops Bright Gold on the other one. I also added a bit of the Spectrum Noir sparkle (none of these sparkles are visible in these images!! 😦 ) I added drops of Nuvo Crystal Drops Silver Lining and Fevicryl Glitter Gold for embellishing.

#589 – A Precious Shaker Card

Hello! Continuing withΒ Winnie and Walter 3rd Birthday Celebrations, I made a few more cards this weekend. I’ll post them one by one. The first one is shaker card, made using Winnie & Walter My Precious and Scenery: Stripes stamp sets.

You Are Precious To Me

I used MISTI to stamp the gems on a card panel. The first time I am using MISTI for this purpose – I usually just eyeball and stamp.. and I have only used MISTI when I need to stamp the image twice.. or some special cases.. So anyway, easy to see how pretty it came out. Once done, I stamped the stripes and then the sentiment on another panel using MISTI too. I then adhered these together to make the shaker, finally adhering it to the card base.

You Are Precious To Me

This card goes to the following challenges from the Winnie and Walter 3rd Birthday Celebrations –

#586 – Another for Double Celebration!

Hello! I am back with another card for the double celebration of 3rd Anniversary of Winnie & Walter and 300 Weeks of Inspiration by Kara. Its my second card for both challenges –

You're Amazing

The inspiration file is from Week 271, Barbara Anders’s card.

Barbara #271:

More inspiration from this spectacular mood board from Heather at Winnie & Walter’s challenge … such an abundance of flowers!! –

I used Basically Essential stencil with some white embossing paste for the background, topping it with flowers from Winnie & Walter’s In Bloom: Addie’s Garden. The flowers are vellum, with white heat embossed images, colored using Zig brush markers. I trimmed them, then arranges them with the sentiment from Stamplorations Amazing die and a tiny ‘you’re’ from Winnie & Walter’s The Big, The Bold and Party. And a few silver sequins for embellishment complete the card!

#585 – Happy 3rd for Winnie & Walter & Happy 300 for Friday Inspiration File

whew…that’s a long title…!! πŸ˜€

But that’s what this post is for – celebrating two fantastic achievements! I wanted to take part in these, by, of course, playing with their challenges! πŸ™‚

A very big congratulations to Winnie and Walter for completing a very successful 3 years and a big congrats to Kara Vrabel (of K and R Designs) in giving us 300 weeks of inspiration by way of her Friday Inspiration Files!!Β  I am a big fan of both the company and the lady! And I’ve made a couple of cards to be a part of both challenges. Showing the first one here –

Hello Friend

I made this card inspired by…quite a few things, actually. πŸ˜‰ First, I was inspired by Aga’s card (Week 265), then I wanted the card to have three colors, and got the perfect set of colors with the Seven Hills Crafts Challenge this month. I got the perfect stamp set too – Winnie and Walter’s In Bloom: Eva’s Favorite Flowers. This stamp set is just perfect when you want to make anything geometrical! Love it!! πŸ™‚

Aga #265:

{source: Blog, Pinterest}

So, after drawing some light pencil lines for reference, I eye balled and stamped all the images, finally coming to the sentiment. I was super tempted to add dimension or even embellishing (it really is tough for me to make such a super CAS card!!) but I left it be.. Oh, and I did add that circle using a green gel pen from Uniball… I wish they had every color I wanted, the pens are great!

Hello Friend

Well wrapping off – I am submitting the card to the following challenges –

Seven Hills Crafts February Challenge (I used turquoise, lime and grey) –

K and R Designs 300 Weeks Of Inspiration Challenge

Winnie and Walter 3rd Birthday Celebrations

Three Challenge with Shay (I used three colors)

Pattern-Making Challenge with Mayuri

Mood Board Challenge with Heather P all three colors are in the mood, and of course, the pattern is made using flower and leaf stamps!

Here’s to more years of Winnie & Walter and hundreds of weeks of Kara’s Inspiration files!

#540 – Winnie & Walter: The Gossip Column: Take 2

PE: Hot Gossips (runner-up) at the Gossip Column challenge!!!

Hello! The Gossip Column this time is really inspiring!! I have already added one card to the challenge, but I thought of making another, especially since the time was extended! So, since I got my fill with glitter last time, I thought I would try some leafing –

Happy Birthday

I started with a card panel and added embossing paste over Winnie & Walter Scenery: Madison stencil. After leaving it overnight to dry, I added Zig two way glue, left it alone for some 15 mins, before adding my leafing. The leafing I used was actually leftover pieces, with gold, copper and silver leafing.

Happy Birthday

Once that dried, I added the sentiment, with the Winnie & Walter Happy cut using white cardstock and foam mounted and the rest of the sentiment from Winnie & Walter The Big, The Bold & Party stamped using Memento Tuxedo Black.

#536 – Winnie & Walter: WCMD 2016 (Take 4)

Hello! I am back with another card for the Winnie & Walter WCMD celebrations. The challenges that I am playing for are Stretch Your Stamps with Kelly, Pinspiration with Heather H. and Background Building with Shay.

Winnie & Walter - WCMD 2016

And here’s the Pinspiration image from Heather’s challenge –

And here’s the card I made –

As you know, I am a fan of geometric cards, and I love how the geometry pops in this one. And its actually pretty simple to make! I just stamped two of the flowers from In Bloom: Eva’s Favorite Flowers. I didn’t have the patience to draw lines to get them to be geometrically accurate, so I just eyeballed them (so you can see some out of alignment πŸ˜‰ ). I used Memento Tuxedo Black for stamping, since I was not going to do any coloring.

Hi

I then die cut Hi cutaway through the card panel, colored it using Scattered Straw, Mustard Seed and Fossilzed Amber distress inks. My initial idea was to add some rhinestones in the center of each flower, but I ditched that idea..didn’t think it would shine, I made this a shaker card. πŸ™‚

And that’s card number 4! πŸ™‚ Thank you for stopping by! πŸ™‚
