#1102 – Black Gold

No. Not oil. I mean the colors.

Hello and welcome! It’s time for a new challenge at Seize the Birthday and this time the Topping is chosen by Barbara to be ‘Masculine‘. If the topping is not your thing, just make a birthday related project to join!

And here’s what I made –

This card is basically a CASE of Yana Smakula’s card from here. I couldn’t resist the gold!! Ha ha ha!!

I used Lil Inker Designs Diamond Chevron on gold foil cardstock and adhered the negative pieces on black cardstock. To make the process easier, I had adhered double sided tape behind the gold cardstock before die cutting. So, I have the positive left over for another card. I also used another piece of plain cardstock that I had die cut to adhere the negative pieces – basically inlaying the pieces and finally removed the cardstock to get the my card base.

For the sentiment, I combined Altenew Modern Deco Alpha and Paper Trey Ink Wet Paint stamps and gold heat embossed them over black cardstock. I then used a die from Paper Smooches Fancy Frames to die cut this piece as well as another piece of gold foil cardstock and adhered them on the card base. And that finished my card!

And that finished my card! I’m joinin the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday challenge where the theme is Anything Goes.

#1080 – STB: Use Red as the Main Color

Hello and welcome! It’s time for a new challenge at Seize the Birthday challenge and as always, we’re back with a new Topping. The Topping, of course, is optional, and every time is Anything Goes birthday theme. The topping this time is chosen by our leading lady JoAnn as ‘Use Red as the Main Color’.

And here’s what I made –

I started with the flowers from Concord & 9th Buds & Blossoms. I stamped them and fussy cut them. For the background I used The Stamp Market Diamond Tile. After trimming the panel, I foam mounted it over a white card base. I also arranged the flowers and adhered them using more foam tape. For the sentiment I used Paper Trey Ink Wet Paint and Wet Paint 3 stamp sets. I then cut the sentiment to size before adhering it over my card.

And that’s my card! Checkout more inspiration and creativity from our design team and our guest designers at the Seize the Birthday challenge blog.
