ColorQ challenge

Hello!

I came upon this great challenge – ColorQ. They provide a set of colors for us to base our card on.This is going to be my first submission to one of their challenges! 🙂

I don’t exactly have the colors they have mentioned in the challenge, so I have gone with the colors nearest to them, from my stash. I used Memento inks – Rich Cocoa, Potter’s Clay, Bamboo Leaves and Bahama Blue.

I started with a white card base and first stamped my sentiment from the Inkadinkado ‘Thoughts For The Day’ stamp set using Rich Cocoa. I then stamped the flowers and the patterns from another stamp set from Inkadinkado ‘Organic Fabric Flourishes’. I then adhered some pearls on for embellishment.

Like I already mentioned, I am submitting this to the ColorQ challenge #268

I do have another card I had come up with initially. I wanted the base to have the (alternative) color of Dusty Durango and stamp the same designs on it using pigment inks –

But you can barely see the blue, the colors don’t gel well and it didn’t really turn out that great 😦 My blue ink pad was out of juice and the stamping didn’t work properly. On hindsight, I think it might have turned out better with a tone-on-tone look. Hmm..well, I guess its time to get some new ink pads! 😉

Thanks for looking! 🙂

  1. Beautiful card – I love how you’ve placed the pearls…they’re just the right amount of embellishment. I like the second one too – subtle yet elegant! Thanks for playing along at Colour Q!
