#468 – Happy Anniversary!

Hello!

I made this card for my dear parents’ anniversary –

Remember all those pattern papers you buy – this is one good way to use them. I used pattern paper from DCWV The Luxury Stack – the stack has some really pretty papers in it, and I especially love the pearly sheen each one has – and they were completely unused, sitting there right in front of me to grab them – which I did. 😀

Since these papers are pretty thick too, I could use them for minimal watercoloring – and by minimal, I mean the use of water. Plus, my Camel Drawing inks were perfect for this – since they are color rich, but without so much pigment. I almost didn’t use any water, choosing instead to just wet my brush and take lesser ink instead, where I wanted soft colors.

Anyway, I first stamped the flowers from Altenew Painted Flowers using My Favorite Things Hybrid black ink to stamp. After the ink had dried (I had to wait a bit, since the paper was absorbing the ink a little slowly than normal cardstock), I started my painting. It didn’t take too long, since I was not going for atoo detailed look. I instead went for layering of colors with lots of drying time in between. Once done, I trimmed the panel and went to my sentiment.

I used Paper Trey Ink Wet Paint stamp and die set for my sentiment. The die cut uses white cardstock and some orange foam for underlying. The sentiment is heat embossed in gold. Before adhering the panel and the sentiment, I added a bit of gold mesh that I had using double sided tape for adhering and then I foam mounted the panel and adhered the sentiment using Ranger Multi Medium Matte. I then added a few gold sequins for embellishment.

And then came my envelope. Once I finished measuring, marking and cutting the envelope, I stamped the same sentiment and flowers and heat embossed them in gold. I admit, they really don’t show up much in normal light (as the photos prove!) but they still look pretty good. 🙂

Hope my Ma and Papa will like it too! 🙂

Thanks for stopping by! 🙂
