Hello and welcome! Its been a busy month, with us moving and ‘trying’ to get settled here… which is a gigantic task! One month and we’ve still not finished unpacking all the boxes… seems like it will take at least a couple more months before we’re all settled.
In the meantime, my DT commitments are a welcome break! π I got my crafty supplies stuffed into their places as soon as possible, and sat down to make something. I was due the card for this time’s Seize the Birthday challenge, where Shirley has given us the topping ‘Faces – Human or Animal‘.
And here’s what I made –
This little boy from Purple Onion Designs called Rayne seems to be perfect. I used Faber Castel Polychromos color pencils to color him on Fabriano Accademia Disegno Drawing paper. I then also used the cake and banner from My Favorite Things ‘Sending Sweet Celebration Wishes’ and also colored it, along with a little hand-drawn table for the cake, which at retrospect seems a little small for my liking.. but anyway. I then fussy cut the colored images and set them aside.
I then used My Favorite Things ‘Watercolor Wash’ die to die cut a window out of kraft cardstock panel, and adhered a page from an old novel on top of the card base. I stamped the sentiment from Happy Little Stampers ‘Doodled Flowers’ on the kraft panel using white pigment ink. I then foam mounted the kraft panel on top and arranged the images inside.
And that finished my card! I hope you enjoyed looking at it as much as I enjoyed making it! π Checkout more inspiration from the rest of the team and our Surprise Party Guest AΜsa Johansson. And don’t forget to join the challenge yourself with any birthday project!
Thank you so much for stopping by!
I am pleased to hear that you have now moved and are slowly settling in. These things can seem to take forever. I love you card, your little boy is so beautifully painted and that is a brilliant way to frame him. Great use of the book page too xx
