#1138 – Vintage Flowers

Hello and welcome! We have a new challenge up at Addicted to Stamps & More and the challenge this time is to ‘Make Your Mark‘!

Addicted to Stamps - Make Your Mark

And here’s my creation –

It’s been a very long time since I used my Prima watercolor pencils. These pencils don’t rpovide very rich and vibrant colors, so they are perfect for vintage liek themes. I also missed watercoloring some flowers so I thought combining them would be a great idea. I used stamped from Altenew Garden Treasure and Beautiful Day and Simon Says Stamp Sketch Ranunculus, stamped it using Antique Linen on Canson XL watercolor paper and then watercolored it.

Once done, I die cut the panel using Pink Fresh Studio Notched Corner Frame. I also cut a couple of additional panels to adhere them beneath this. I then adhered both the positive and negative pieces on the card base. For sentiment, I used Altenew Essential Sentiment Strips. I die cut a couple of stripes of this, adhered then together before adhering it on the card. No furner embellishements – I liked the clean look of the card. 🙂

And that’s my card. I’m also joining these challenges with my card –

#988 – Dichromatic

Hello and welcome! We have a new challenge at Seize the Birthday, and the Topping this time, which chosen by me is ‘Dichromatic‘. The Topping is optional, and as long as it is birthday themed, you can join the challenge.

And here’s what I made –

I just got my hands on the Ornate Border die from CrafTangles and I just had to use it on a card. Actually, that’s where I started making this card. I sponged in Broken China and Cracked Pistachio distress inks on a strip of white cardstock, then die cut this and a couple of scrap pieces of cardstock using the die. I then adhered them together for dimension.

Next, I stamped the images from Altenew Beautiful Day on the white cardstock, using Tattered Rose and Victorian Velvet for the flowers. While I used watercoloring on the smaller flowers, I misted the stamp with a bit of water to do the layered stamping. I then fussy cut the images.

Lastly the background. I used Itsy Bitsy Damask embossing folder on a white cardstock. I then used a brayer to apply ink top, making it a messy application, so that the ink isn’t uniform. I then trimmed the sides a bit and foam mounted the panel on top of the card base. I then arranged the die cut and the fussy cut images on top and adhered them.

The sentiment, from Simon Says Stamp Beautiful Flowers, stamped on a strip of white cardstock is adhered on top. And that finished my card.

And that finished my card! I’m joining the following challenges as well –
