#878 – Guest Designer at Timeout challenge!!

Hello and welcome! I am so very honoured and excited today to be a part of the new challenge up at Timeout challenge!

The sponsor for this challenge are Topflight Stamps.

Aren’t those words wonderful? And very inspiring to make a card too! I got a few ideas in my head right away, but this is what I ended up with in the end –

I started with the happy critters from Winnie & Walter Happy Dance stamp set – stamped them in MFT Hybrid black ink and used Zig Brush Markers to color them. I then fussy cut them, right to their borders, and used the black Zig Brush Markers to mark the cut edges black as well. I also added Nuvo Crystal Drop in Ebony Black on the eyes and the noses of the critters. Set this aside to dry.

Next I came to the background. I chose a blue cardstock, blended in some distress inks of other blues, sprinkled some water, then white and black inks to get that splattered night sky look. I then trimmed this to size. I then stamped the sentiment from the same stamp set, in black ink. This wasn’t making enough impact, so I heat embossed using clear embossing powder.

I then adhered this over the card base. For the frame, I die cut a white card panel using Neat & Tangled Scalloped die and foam mounted this frame over the card. I then adhered the critters and then also a few music notes, from the same stamp set, which I stamped and die cut.

And that’s my card! Check out the Timeout challenge blog for some more inspirations from the very talented design team!!

Thank you so much, Sandie and everyone from the Timeout DT for having me over! And thank you for stopping by! 🙂
