#1107 – Lil’ Birdie in the Heart Says

Hello and welcome to a new challenge at Seize the Birthday! This time, our optional topping has been chosen by our leading lady JoAnn as ‘Add a Heart to Your Card‘. Of course, if you happen to not want to follow this topping, the Anything Goes birthday still applies, as always.

And here’s what I made –

I started with the bird and the pretty flowers and leaves surrounding it. I used My Favorite Things Birds of a Feather die set to cut Brustro water color paper and then watercolored them using distress inks. The texture of the watercolor paper makes the pieces look spotted/splattered. Did the same with the sentiments, die cut from Neat & Tangled Journaling Alphas and Honey Bee Stamps Hooray Day dies. I also die cut a couple of hearts using Pink & Main Double Stitched Heart from kraft card stock (which is looking reddish brown in the pics!)

For the background I used some sprays that I had bought a long time ago. I misted them so they left splatters instead of covering the whole background. Then, once that dreid, I used We R Memory Keepers Woven embossing folder on it. I then adhered all the pieces together to make my card!

And that’s my card. Linking this card to the following challenges:

#1049 – Goin’ Round and Round

Hello and welcome! We have a new challenge at Seize the Birthday, hosted by Colleen this time. and she has chosen the Topping as ‘Circle or Circles‘. Of course, the Topping is always optional, and it is always ‘Anything Goes‘ birthday challenge.

And here’s what I made –

I chose to use Reverse Confetti My Sunshine stamp set. This stamp set has a lot of sentiments within rough circles, which I thought were apt for this challenge. I also picked up My Favorite Things Abstract Art stamp set, which has a lot of splatter like stamps, which I thought suited the circles – even adding a few of them, since, well, they are circular! 😀

I chose an irregular sized panel of cream colored cardstock and stamped my circles away in four colors. I then mounted it on black cardbase before adding the sentiments. The die cut is from Honey Bee Stamps Hooray Day and the heat embossed part is a part of a stamp from Paper Smooches Simply Said.

And that’s my card! Hop over to the Seize the Birthday challenge blog and checkout more inspiration from the rest of the DT and our guests as well.
