#332 – Thanks, With An Apple

Hello! I made this card for the Sovushka Slavia: Autumn CAS Marathon: Phase V: Control Works. I made this card just after the challenge was announced but started having second thoughts after seeing all the amazing cards by the DT!! But – I thought, let me just submit it – and here it is –

I first drew the apple on a scrap paper and cut it out. Using this as a template, I drew the apple on watercolor paper and colored it – or more like saturated it – with Zig color pens. My coloring inspiration came from this card by Jennifer McGuire (no matter how much she says she’s not a coloring expert, I just don’t believe her – I mean, I’ve never seen a more delicious looking apple!!)

After covering the card base with a dark grey color paper, I added this panel stamped with My Favorite Things Writing Tablet using Memento Grey Flannel and cut using Spellbinders A2 Curved Matting Basics. I then stamped the sentiment from WPlus9 Basic Banners in Memento Tuxedo Black and cut fish-tails on both ends. I then covered my apple in some glittery clear nail polish and added it and the sentiment on the card using foam dots. Finally added some sequins as embellishment.

I do love how the card has turned out – kinda simple, everyday card. I don’t think I’ve ever made a card with an apple till date – so, makes me happy!! 😀
