#1118 – Cupcake Lollipop

Hello and welcome! We have a new Seize the Birthday challenge today, hosted by Glanda who has chosen the topping of ‘Food &/or Drink‘. Anytime is ‘Anything Goes‘ as long as it’s a birthday theme. So, you can choose to follow the topping or not.

And here’s what I prepared –

I started by stamping the images from Winnie & Walter Wish Big With Evelin T Designs and Sweet Holiday stamp sets. I also drew some cherries on the cupcake and one beside it. I used Canson Montval watercolor paper and Daniel Smith watercolors.

Once done, I die cut the panel using My Favorite Things Elegant Rectangle die, then stamped the sentiment from My Favorite Things Something Sweet stamp set. On the textured pink card base, I used a stamp from Simon Says Stamp Loving Thoughts to stamp on the edges using a light grey ink and then I adhered the watercolored panel on top. I also added a few sequins for embellishing.

And that’s my card. I’m joining these challenges as well –

#1075 – Ready for Christmas

Hello and welcome. A few more days to Christmas and I’m probably posting the last post before this year ends. 🙂

This is another set of cards that I had made on commission. The basis of the idea was to form outdoor snowy scenes with critters and trees and moon and a sky lit with aurora.

All the scenes are watercolored. I used thick handmade watercolor paper for the background and used Gansai Tambi watercolors to color them, while I used Canson watercolor paper for the critters and Distress inks to color them. For the falling snow and the snow on the trees I used Gouache paint.

The images are from various stamp sets – Simon Says Stamp Warmest Wishes, Winnie & Walter Happy Owlidays and Winnie & Walter Sweet Holiday.

For the sentiment, I used the stamps from Simon Says Stamp Christmas Blessings.

I am joining the following challenges –

#1074 – Magic of Christmas

Hello and welcome! The last Happy Little Stampers Anything Goes with Dies challenge of the year! As usual, there is no theme and as long as you have die cuts in the project, anything goes!

Happy Little Stampers - Anything Goes With Dies Badge

And here’s what I made –

I started with the snowmen from Tim Holtz-Sizzix Chilly & Freezy die cuts, cutting them from watercolor paper and colored them using Daniel Smith watercolors. I also die cut a panel of watercolor paper using Neat & Tangled Doily Tag and added a wash of watercolor on the top, leaving the bottom white. Once this dried, I die cut another piece of the tag from scrap watercolor paper and adhered it below to get some support and dimension.

On the card base, I used My Favorite Things Typewriter Text and Simon Says Stamp Lots of Snowflakes stamps to make the background. I used Iced Spruce and Speckled Egg distress inks and misted them with water before stamping.

Finally, I adhered all the pieces together on the card. For the sentiment, I used a stamp from Winnie & Walter Sweet Holiday and heat embossed it in white on a scrap piece of red cardstock. I then fussy cut it and added it to the card.

And that’s my card.
