One Layer Simplicity Challenge: Blowin’ in the Wind

PE: Winner!! (I can’t believe it!!)

Hello! Today I am here with a card for the OLS: Blowin’ in the Wind challenge. Using a cut kite, blowing away in the wind – self explanatory! 😉

I recently tried my hand at no line watercoloring (haven’t published that card yet). I just loved the effects! The way this technique brings out the colors and shapes of the image is just completely different – I don’t have the words to describe it! You just have to try it yourself! 😀

So, for this card, I just drew everything by hand, and started watercoloring using Distress inks. I used Picked Raspberry, Spiced Marmalade, Tea Dye, Tumbled Glass, Broken China, Salty Ocean, Iced Spruce and outlined a few lines in the kite using Pumice Stone. I then stamped the sentiment using a stamp from Sentiment Sampler from Paper Smooches and Memento Grey Flannel ink. Here’s another card I made for the challenge (but not submitting it!). I used crayons for the coloring – I can’t believe I haven’t tried them for so long – the blending between colors is absolutely amazing – and this, without using any blending mediums!! Love it! Wanna try more! 🙂 By the way, this too is completely hand-drawn and the sentiment is handwritten using Copic Multi Liner.

Looking forward to making more cards using this technique! Thanks for stopping by! 🙂
