#624 – Guest Designer for Timeout Challenge

Hello! I am super excited to be Guest Designer for Timeout Challenge! I am absolutely delighted to play along with this talented team!!

Time Out Challenge - Guest Designer

The challenge this time a picture inspiration with the theme is “Home Sweet Home”, sponsored by Happy Little Stamper, who are giving a $15 gift voucher for winner! Here’s the picture inspiration –

Home Sweet Home

Isn’t that bird on the front cushion a real beauty!? I mean, really! I tell you, this is the first time I seriously wanted an image layering bird stamp set – there are so many to choose from, that I always deferred from buying one, but this image really pushed me… and I restrained myself with great difficulty (please don’t berate me, I am trying to be on a budget!! 😉 )

So, I just chose another one of those pretty cushions – the one on the right most behind. I just loved the look of those beautiful lilacs, and I had just the perfect pattern paper for this!! And this is what I made –

2017-05-20(1a)

I trimmed a portion of the flower from the paper, so that I could mount it on another level. And I adhered the rest of the paper on the base, then added a piece of vellum, that I embossed with Craft Concepts Grunge Stripes embossing folder, on top. I then adhered the paper with the flower on it, trimming the excess on all sides. The sentiment die cut is Winnie & Walter In a Word: Wishes.

And that’s my card. Hop you are inspired by it.

I am also submitting this card to the following challenges –

The Paper Players Challenge #347: Theme Challenge: Birthday

CAS-ual Fridays Challenge #175: Use those Pattern Papers

Just Us Girls Challenge #396: Word Week: Die Cuts

  6. This card is stunning, Ashwini! Great use of designer paper. I’ve never been able to dry emboss vellum, it always cracks… Yours looks amazing! I truly love your idea with this card. Thanks for being a fabulous guest designer!

  7. Oh Ashwini, I have no words for your imagination on this card. You know, I has spent quite a time trying to find the vellum on your card, and I seriously couldn’t see it 😉 , I know where it is, but it is camouflaged so well that it is very hard to see. I love that flower on the PP, and the overall design of the PP, you really made it the star here. Another gorgeous card. Visiting your blog is always a visual treat!
