PE: As You See It Featured Artist!! Yay! So happy, since I’ve played their challenge after so long!! 😀 😀

As You See It - Featured Artist

Stampin’ Royalty Top Pick!!

Stampin' Royalty Winner

Hello! I’ve been away for quite some time – except for a few scheduled DT posts, I’ve been doing nothing! But not behind the scene.. I was busy making a few cards for my dear ones, who have birthdays and anniversary next month. And me, I had to make and re-make the cards a million times before I was happy… and that took a lot of time! 😀 And when I finally did make some cards I could post, I fell ill, couldn’t take any photos of my cards, and when I recovered, the challenges I had made them for were all over! Just my luck! But I am just posting them here, hoping they’ll be applicable for a few other challenges..

I made both my cards using Concord and 9th Lace Leaf stamp set. For my first card, I chose three shades of green. Stamped them using MISTI, then the messy background, spread it with a wet paintbrush. I then die cut the panel twice, a bigger rectangle and a smaller square. I then stamped the sentiment inside, then adhered these pieces on the card base, foam mounting the mid die cut. Finally, some Nuvo Crystal Drops Gloss White for embellishing to finish the card.

National craft month

For my second card, I went with green, gold and black – so charming! 🙂

2017-03-24(3a)

The bottom most leaf was an experiment with FlitterGlu and foil, the second one, black ink on vellum, the third, gold embossing on vellum. To finish the card, I fussy cut the leaves and adhered them together using double sided tape, mounted the leaves and then the sentiment using foam tape. I then added some drops of Nuvo Crystal Drops Bright Gold, then added a gold line frame using Uniball Signo gold gel pen.

#544 – Seize The Birthday: Lots of Leaves

Hello!! Welcome to my first post as a DT member of Seize the Birthday!!! There, its finally out – oh, I had such trouble keeping it in for so many days!! I am super happy to be a part of this amazing team, where I am debuting as a DT!!

Seize The Birthday - Blog

Our Surprise Party Guest is Sherrie Koning, amazing crafter – you should go and check her out!! And here’s the theme for the latest Seize the Birthday Challenge – Lots of Leaves.

Seize The Birthday - The Toppings

I was really inspired by this card by Keeway (Kiwi Concepts) – love the way she has created this dreamy card, and the colors just wow me!! And here’s what I made –

2016-10-08(1a)

I started by blending in a green ombre using distress ink on a watercard panel. I then stamped the ferns from Lesia Zgharda Ferns stamp set and heat embossed them clear. I then added water on the entire panel using a flat paint brush, and picked off the color. This made the embossed areas slightly darker, and gave a beautiful effect.

2016-10-08(1b)

I then trimmed this panel and foam mounted it on the card base. For the sentiment, I cut Paper Smooches Happy Birthday die to cut a piece from card stock and foam, adhered them to each other and then on the card. Finally I embellished them using clear rhinestones.

Hope you are inspired by my creation! You can get even more amazing inspiration from the rest of the Design Team! Remember, you can choose either to go with the theme, or with any creation, which has a birthday theme. Just have fun and play along!!

#529 – One Layers and Splatters

PE: Top 3 at Sovushka Slavia! Can’t believe it!!

Sovushka Slavia - Top 3

Winner at Stampin Royalty!!

Stampin' Royalty Winner

Hello! I’ve made a discovery (which every card maker out there might already know) – that is this – splatters add a wonderful accent for one layers, especially when you don’t want to add any extra embellishments – no sequins, no rhinestones, no nothing, just pure one layered card! And here’s proof –

I made these two cards today, and couldn’t wait till tomorrow, since I have challenge deadlines approaching I just had to share them… Also, they are a part of The Ultimate Challenge Blog Hop with Altenew!

2016-09-25(1a)

My first card is made of only Altenew Beautiful Day stamp set – this is a new one in my stash, and I couldn’t wait to make a card!  I used the colors from ColorQ Challenge and stamped this one layer card –

2016-09-25(1a)

…and added splatters…I think I am getting addicted to them after the last Virginia’s View Challenge.. 😉 😛 Oh, the colors I used are all distress inks – Frayed Burlap, Barn Door, Spiced Marmalade, Scattered Straw – except for the sentiment, for which I used Memento Tuxedo Black.

And here’s the second card –

2016-09-25(2a)

I used Altenew Golden Garden stamp set went monochrome – I used my Memento Tuxedo Black and Pear Tart inks, then added the splatters, of course! The sentiment comes from my new latest to my stash – Honey Bee Brush Grunge Alpha – which I stamped using Memento Tuxedo Black.

#526 – Fall Thanks

PE: Honorable Mention at Stampin’ Royalty!!

Hello! The card today is made using another panel I made from the embossing folder + distress ink + misting technique, using Spellbinders Flora embossing folder. The first one is in my previous post. I did say then that I couldn’t stop making panel using this technique, but unfortunately, not all of then are turned into cards.. I just didn’t get that many ideas..talk about a let down!

So, anyway, here’s card no. 2!

2016-09-14(1a)

This time, I used Squeezed Lemonade, Mustard Seed, Worn Lipstick and Seedless Preserve distress inks, and went in a V-shape when coloring the embossing folder. I also splattered the dried panel using my Camel drawing inks…lots of little splatters! 😀 I also trimmed and distressed the sides using my Prima Comfort Craft Distressing tool.

2016-09-14(1b)

Before I added the sentiment, I added a strip of gold glitter washi tape, then topped it with a vellum piece I had leftover from this card. What I had done, was use my Zig two way glue stick to add some random lines on vellum and add some copper leafing once it dried and became tacky.

After I added the vellum strip, I added the sentiment, which I had die cut from white cardstock using Paper Smooches Thanks die. Finally I added some gold sequins for embellishing.

CAS-ual Fridays - Favorite

Hello! I made this card a couple of days ago for the Ellen Hutson August Pin Sights Challenge

Ellen Hutson - Pin Sights Challenge

AugustPinsights

Pairing in a new stamp I got in my stash, from Lesia Zgharda, with my oldest Ellen Hutson stamp. I did want to add a bit more pink in it, to go with the photo inpiration, but I couldn’t get it in.. But I do like this look with a blend of nature and geometry.. 🙂

2016-08-27(1a)

Supplies used:
Ellen Hutson Mondo Magnolia – I used vellum to white heat emboss the flower and then colored the back using oil pastels.
Lesia Zgharda Rombo Trikutniki
Paper Trey Ink Wet Paint 3 (I used card stock painted with silver acrylic paint, and then black foam die cut behind it. The stamped sentiment uses Hero Arts Unicorn white pigment ink)
